Motor Speech Disorders

Motor Speech DisordersNeuromuscular disease can affect a person's speech, voice, and breath support for communication and swallowing.

Very often, a program of specifically designed exercises can improve or at least maintain muscle strength and coordination for people with neuromuscular problems. Proper compensation and control techniques can be used to help individuals help themselves.

Beaumont's Motor Speech Disorders Treatment Program has been established to provide assessment and short-term treatment to patients with neuromuscular disease. Following an initial evaluation, treatment recommendations will be discussed and a comprehensive report will be sent to the referring physician. Medicare and other insurance companies may cover treatment.
