Shane M. Cerone, Senior Vice President, President, Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak

Shane M. Cerone is senior vice president and president of Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He joined Beaumont, Royal Oak in 2008 as the hospital’s senior vice president and chief operating officer. In 2009, Cerone succeeded hospital director John Labriola, who retired after 40 years of service with Beaumont.
Before joining Beaumont, Cerone spent 13 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, a 763-bed facility. While at the UIHC and the Iowa Carver College of Medicine, he held many leadership roles. From 2007 to 2009, Cerone was the associate hospital director and reported to the chief executive officer. He was also an adjunct assistant professor in health management with the University of Iowa College of Public Health.
He holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Nebraska Wesleyan University and a master's degree in health administration from the University of Iowa.
In 2009, Crain’s Detroit Business named him to their “40 under 40” listing. It honors the best and brightest in Southeast Michigan who have made their marks in business before age 40.
He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Hospital Association and the Association of American Medical Colleges.
