Michael Herbert, Senior Vice President, Executive Director, Beaumont Physician Partners

Michael Herbert has been senior vice president, executive director of Beaumont Physician Partners since January 2011. He is responsible for developing an internal practice plan of employed physicians, and developing, implementing and monitoring Beaumont’s physician-hospital strategic plan. He manages and develops the process and metrics for clinical integration between Beaumont’s hospitals, outpatient sites of care and physician practices to enhance the quality and value of care. He also supports the recruitment and retention of faculty and promotes growth in Beaumont’s clinical services.

Herbert earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Vermont and is a graduate of the Executive Development Program at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He comes to Beaumont from Physicians Practice Group, in Augusta, Ga., where he was interim president and chief executive officer, and the Medical College of Georgia, where he was executive associate dean of administration.

He has also been associate dean at Wayne State University School of Medicine and executive director of University Physician Group. Additionally, Herbert has held the positions of associate director of administration in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan Health System and School of Medicine and associate deputy regional director at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
