Lorraine Headley Nursing Excellence Award
The Nurse Executive Leadership Council (NELC) and the Professional Nurse Council (PNC) recognize Lorraine Headley for her many years of dedication, commitment, and service to nursing at Beaumont, Troy with an annual nursing award program established in her honor. Each year, a registered nurse and nurse assistant will be selected by a committee of leaders from the NELC and the PNC based on criteria exemplifying Lorraine's commitment to excellence in nursing practice and patient care.
Any hospital employee or physician can nominate a registered nurse or nurse assistant for these awards. All nominations are submitted with a short essay explaining why the nominee possesses the professional characteristics of Lorraine's commitment to nursing excellence and patient care. Two individuals who demonstrated these ideals are presented with awards during nurses’ week in her honor.
