Beaumont assists patients affected by local oncologist accused of fraud
You may have heard news media reports about a local, non-Beaumont cancer physician charged with Medicare fraud. This has prompted many patients to seek second opinions or continuation of cancer care from Beaumont primary care physicians and other cancer specialists. Beaumont has helped more than 50 patients affected by this situation by making referrals and scheduling appointments, obtaining medical records, and coordinating communications between the FBI, medical information services, patients and physicians - all free of charge. If you were impacted by this unfortunate occurrence and need assistance, we’re here to help. Call our Physician Referral Service at 800-633-7377.
Beaumont has always supported access to health insurance coverage for all Americans. As the Affordable Care Act (ACA) goes into place, we look forward to serving patients who have not previously had coverage to receive the health care they need. The ACA will make primary, preventive care more accessible and affordable and includes a Health Insurance Marketplace where consumers can compare plans and purchase insurance. Learn more about the ACA and the Marketplace so you can make informed decisions and select a Beaumont participating plan.
Beaumont Health System has been named Metro Detroit’s Healthiest Employer. The three-hospital health system will be recognized at the Oct. 29 Health Care Leadership Summit at the San Marino Club in Troy.
