It will be the largest permanent medical technology exhibit gallery in North America, and through a partnership among the Detroit Science Center, Beaumont Hospitals and Oakland University, it will be located right here in Detroit.

Beaumont researchers: mini-stroke diagnostic testing effective

Research done at Beaumont Hospital, published online in the May issue of the Annals of Emergency Medicine, supports the use of rapid diagnostic testing for patients with mini-strokes or TIAs. Beaumont researchers found that the use of an Accelerated Diagnostic Protocol, in an Emergency Department Observational Unit, increased efficiency, lowered costs and shortened hospital stays.

Beaumont Medical Center, Macomb Township offers same-day surgeries

The Beaumont Medical Center in Macomb Township now offers area residents same-day surgical services. Surgical procedures at the new center include general surgery; gynecology; ophthalmology; orthopedics; ear, nose and throat; urology; gastroenterology; podiatry; plastic surgery; and pain management.

Extraordinary Beaumont nurses recognized with Daisy Awards

Three nurses have been named Beaumont Hospitals' April recipients of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The award, supported by the DAISY Foundation, an organization dedicated to fighting diseases that attack the immune system, recognizes the efforts of nurses. The three were honored in a special ceremony, which included guest presenters Bonnie and J. Mark Barnes of Glen Ellen, Calif., co-founders of the DAISY Foundation, on April 16 at Beaumont, Royal Oak.

Beaumont Flag Raising Ceremony honors 'Little Tony' and commemorates Donate Life Month

In December of 2005, a snowboarding accident tragically took the life of Tony Sisco Jr. of White Lake. Little Tony, as his friends and family called him, was 12. Thanks to his wishes, three people received life saving transplants and another the gift of sight. On Saturday, April 7 in Royal Oak, Tony Jr. and his family were honored by friends and Beaumont Hospital staff for his gifts of life in a flag raising ceremony near the hospital's north entrance.
