Beaumont's Surgical Learning Center conducts an ever-expanding list of programs, mainly targeted toward medical professionals and those training to work in the health care field. Listed below are our available programs.
The Surgical Learning Center also provides the facility for industry representatives to host cadaver labs to provide current advanced hands-on training and in-service training sessions for our staff including nursing, residents, and attending physicians. Any industry representatives who are interested in hosting a cadaver lab are encouraged to call 248-898-5566 for additional information.
The Surgical Learning Center offers a course on the Fundamentals of Gowning, Gloving and Aseptic Technique.
The Surgical Learning Center works in collaboration with a variety of industry representatives to provide current advanced hands-on training and in-service training sessions for our staff including nursing, residents, and attending physicians.
The Surgical Learning Center has partnered with William Beaumont Hospital and Oakland County Schools to create a program entitled the "Saturday Series". This program offers junior and senior high school students who are interested in pursuing careers in the healthcare industry an opportunity to learn more about a variety of healthcare fields.
Our 3rd year medical clerkship students, who rotate from Wayne State University's School of Medicine, participate in a bi-annual skills workshop where they participate in a variety of different simulation exercises and critical thinking exercises.
Suture workshops have been designed for our junior residents, physician assistants, and medical clerkship students to provide them with the opportunity to hone their knot tying and suturing skills.
