Advanced Strategies

Informal roundtable discussions moderated by a psychologist focus on topics geared to relapse prevention techniques, lifestyle change, balance and post-op success. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m.

Club Bariatrix Support Group

Our bariatric educational support group is a critical component of long-term success. All patients who have had weight-loss surgery or are committed to having surgery, along with a support person, are welcome to attend.

Bereavement

Bereaved Parents Support Group

"Looking Ahead" is a bereavement support group for parents who have lost an infant during pregnancy or as a newborn.

Cardiac Rehab & Wellness

Guiding Hearts Support Group

This free monthly support group is for adult cardiac patients.  The program emphasizes holistic approaches to enhance quality of life for people with heart and vascular diseases.

Caregivers

Caregiver's Support Group

This group meets monthly for caregivers to gain knowledge and support related to their loved ones diagnosis. Presenters are scheduled monthly. This group is facilitated by a licensed social worker.

Postpartum Adjustment Support Group

The Beaumont Parenting Program and Tree of Hope Foundation have partnered to create a safe and supportive environment for families dealing with postpartum adjustment issues.

Fragile X Syndrome Support Group

This support group offers information for families of individuals with Fragile X syndrome, a genetic condition affecting physical, cognitive and sensory development.

N.I.C.U. Support Group

This group provides support for parents of babies currently in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.

Diabetes

Diabetes Support Group - Royal Oak & Troy

These support group meetings are for individuals with diabetes, family members or support people.

Eating Disorders

Anorexia/Bulimia Support Group

This support group is led by recovering or recovered anorexics and/or bulimics to discuss strategies for recovery and to share treatment resources.

 

Eating Disorders Support Group

This eating disorders support group is for patients, their families and friends. Offering education and a chance to share feelings.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia Support Group

This support group provides a place for individuals with Fibromyalgia to exchange information, share common concerns and problem-solve to learn more effective methods of coping with chronic pain.

Heart & Stroke

Cane and Able

Cane and Able is a stroke recovery support group for individuals who have had a stroke, their families and friends.

Helping Hearts

This cardiac support group is for family members of heart patients. 

Sharing Heart Experiences

This monthly support group provides emotional and educational support to women with heart disease.

Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury Caregiving

This support group provides support to caregivers of individuals who have had a stroke or brain injury. 

“Friends” Stroke Club

The "Friends" social group is for people who are recovering from a stroke. "Friends" provides a comfortable and friendly setting in which patients can socialize. A variety of interesting speakers are invited who bring stroke-related information to the group.

Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis Support Group

Support group for adults who have been diagnosed with interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder disorder. Spouses and support people invited.

Kidney

Polycystic Kidney Disease

Polycystic Kidney Disease support group, the PKD Foundation Detroit Chapter, meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Beaumont Hospitals Royal Oak campus in the Administration Building, first floor Conference Dining Room A.

Lung

Pulmonary Hypertension Support Group

This free Pulmonary Hypertension support group provides education and support for people with pulmonary hypertension and their caregivers to help manage their disease and improve their quality of life.

Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson's Exercise Group

This group meets weekly for participants to engage in exercises directed by physical therapists. All levels are welcome and exercises are modified according to participants level.

Parkinson’s Disease Support Group

This support group provides a place for participants to exchange information, share common concerns and problem-solve to learn more effective methods of coping with everyday problems.

Pulmonary

Breathers Club

This support and education group is for adults with chronic lung diseases such as emphysema, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis and bronchitis.

Speech

Adult Stuttering Support Group

This support group helps adults who stutter after treatment improve their fluency skills and learn coping techniques.

Laryngectomee Club Support Group

The Laryngectomee Club offers support and an opportunity for socialization for (individuals who have had their voice boxes removed).  Families are welcome.

Teen Stuttering Support Group

This support group is is for teens who stuttuer after treatment to adapt their new fluency skills.

Transplant

Transplant Connnection

The Transplant Connection Support Group is for individuals who are waiting for an organ transplant or have already received a transplant organ. Families, friends and caregivers are welcome.

Trigeminal Neuralgia

Face Pain

This support group is for people with trigeminal neuralgia, their families and friends.

Vision

Low Vision Support Group

"Peer Support" offers emotional support, coping skills and information for people with visual problems.

Cancer (Oncology)

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group

This support group offers educational information and support for people affected by head and neck cancers.

I Can Cope

This support group offers help to patients and caregivers coping with the diagnosis of cancer. This is a joint effort with the American Cancer Society. 

One-to-One Ovarian Cancer Support Group

This support group provides a forum for ovarian cancer survivors and their families to address concerns, and offer reassurance.

Positively Empowered

A Support Group for individuals with a Hereditary Form of Breast & Ovarian Cancer

This is a Beaumont-sponsored support group for individuals with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation causing Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer syndrome. 

Sharing & Caring: Breast Cancer Education & Support

The group offers education and support for breast cancer patients and their families at the time of diagnosis, during treatment and beyond. Services are free of charge.

Us Too Prostate Cancer Support Group

This group provides information and support for men with prostate cancer and their families.
