Nickolas A. Vitale, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer

Nickolas A. Vitale, became executive vice president and chief financial officer in June 2011, Before being named CFO, Vitale served as Beaumont’s senior vice president, Financial Operations since 2007. Has been in healthcare finance since 1980.

Vitale received his B.B.A. and M.B.A. at Western Michigan University and Wayne State University in 1980 and 1988, respectively.

He has held various financial administrative positions in the health care industry including:

  • Controller, Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, 1985
  • Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Children's Hospital of Michigan, 1988
  • Vice President and Controller, The Detroit Medical Center, 1998
  • Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, The Detroit Medical Center, 1999
  • Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Bon Secours Cottage Health Services, 2003

Vitale has served on the Board of Wayne Community Living Services, and on the Board of the Birmingham Y.M.C.A.  He was also a board member, treasurer and vice president for the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Detroit.  Vitale was a board member for the U of M Club of Greater Detroit and is chairman of the board for the Southeast Michigan American Diabetes Association.  He is also on the National Board of the American Diabetes Association is chairman of the National Finance Committee for the American Diabetes Association and serves on the Audit Committee and Investment Subcommittee of the National ADA.  Vitale was a board member and treasurer of the Boys & Girls Club of Troy, Mich.  He is also chair elect of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Vitale is a fellow and a certified managed care professional in the Healthcare Financial Management Association and was a certified healthcare executive in the American College of Healthcare Executives, where he continues to be a member.
