Troy Cancer Resource Center

The Wilson Cancer Resource Center is dedicated to lightening the burden of a cancer diagnosis by providing patients and their families with resources and assistance throughout their continuum of care.

The Wilson Cancer Resource Center (WCRC) is located in the Physician Office Building, part of the Beaumont Medical Center, Sterling Heights on the Beaumont, Troy east campus.

Whether newly diagnosed or a survivor of many years, a cancer diagnosis rearranges priorities and needs. The Wilson Cancer Resource Center provides oncology patients and their families with education guidance and support to help optimize their cancer treatment and survivorship. Services are free and no referral is needed.

Oncology Nurse Navigator

Our Oncology Nurse Navigators have extensive training and knowledge specific to cancer care. They know cancer, Beaumont, and the resources and support you may need through your treatment. They are here to assist you through the world of oncology services.

Social Worker

Our dedicated social worker provides complimentary consultations with patients and families requiring additional help if a disease starts to decrease their quality of life. The social worker helps by providing supportive counseling and information about community resources, stress management and ways of improving communication of needs and concerns to others.

Dietitian

The registered dietitian provides nutritional counseling to cancer patients to maximize their health while undergoing treatment at Beaumont Hospitals. Any cancer patient/family member may contact the dietitian about:

• Recent weight loss or difficulty maintaining weight
• Problems related to nutrition due to radiation therapy or chemotherapy, such as chewing/swallowing, sore mouth/throat, nausea/vomiting or diarrhea/constipation
• Recent decrease in appetite

Hallie Jack, RD

The Wilson Cancer Resource Center provides shuttle service for patients requiring transportation assistance for treatment-related hospital services. For transportation, a patient must:

• live within a 15-mile radius of Beaumont, Troy
• be ambulatory or, if wheelchair-bound, able to access the van via wheelchair
• have alternative transportation in situations when the van is not available
• meet criteria for hospital-based treatment that would otherwise not be obtainable without shuttle service
